How to Manage Recurring Bills

Touch the Bills Due Tab

Touch + to create a new Bill. Look at the recurring section below.

To create a recurring bill, provide the start date, period and an optional end date.

Dough creates all bills due for a month on the first day of that month or the first day of that month when the App is launched.

For the sake of this example, I will create a bill called "Toyota Loans", make the start date the next day and assign the period to weekly. When I save the Bill, Dough creates all weekly recurrence of this bill for this month.

Since the start date was the 19th of August, only two bills are created. See below.

That was just for illustration so you know what to expect from Dough.

In a real world scenario where bills are more likely to occur monthly you can create the first bill manually and have Dough create all the later ones.

NOTE:
The most important thing to remember about recurring bills is that to stop a bill from recurring you have to either alter or delete the last bill in the series. You cannot make changes to recurring details of a bill that is not the last occurence of that bill.

We have built it this way so that earlier bills will save the original details of its recurrence for your record keeping.

Please see notes in the "managing Recurring Transactions" about how bills repeating twice a month are calculated.
