Managing Recurring Transactions

Touch the Accounts Tab

Touch the specific account for which you wish to create a recurring transaction. In this case I have just one account. A checking account named "Wells Fargo". See screenshot below

I touched Wells Fargo because I want to create recurring transactions for the Wells Fargo Account. Next touch the recurring tab under that account. See screenshot below. I currently have no recurring transactions for this Account.

Touch '+' to create a new recurring transaction. Enter details for the recurring transaction. See screenshot below.

For a transaction to recur, you need to provide three pieces of information - the start date, recurring period and an optional end date.

There are eleven choices for recurring periods which should meet the vast majority of users needs. (Screenshot below)

When you are satisfied with the details you have provided just touch Save. Dough will save the transaction and you will be taken back to the previous screen which will show you a summary of newly added transaction.See screenshot below.

Modifying and deleting recurring transactions are just like modifying and deleting regular transactions. Dough maintains the user interface consistency for ease of use.

Dough inserts a transaction on the day it is due so that among other things your account balance is always accurate.

Notes:
Twice a month period: When you select this option specify the the first day (of the two days in the month) as the start date. Dough calculates the second day of the month based on the number of days in that month divided by two. So for August the second day will be the 16th if the first day was given as the 1st. The second day will be the 17th if the first day was given as the 2nd and so on ond so forth.

If the first day is specified as a day greater than half the number of days in a particular month (for instance Feb 15 or Aug 17), the second day will always be the last day of the month.
